The year 1987.
The first short of the Simpson’s cartoon aired in April; Michael B. Jordan was born in February; and a visionary group of fundraisers established the AFP Triangle Chapter!
Please join me and your colleagues on November 17, 2022, at The Rickhouse in Durham to celebrate 35 years of AFP Triangle, National Philanthropy Day, a group of very special philanthropists, and one of our own with the Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award.
What an honor it is to be a part of a group of professionals who “Change the World with A Giving Heart” on a daily basis, and NPD is our day to shine light on all that is being done in the Triangle to change our corner of the world for the better. I encourage you to take time to nominate someone for one of five awards that will be given this year: Outstanding Young Philanthropist, Excellence in Philanthropy, Outstanding Business or Corporation, Diversity Champion, and Outstanding Fundraising Professional (open to members of the AFP Triangle Chapter only). The nomination process is designed with busy fundraising professionals in mind – a clear and concise form that can be completed online in less than an hour. Nominations are due by close of business on September 20th. Visit to nominate.
I also hope you will join me on November 17th at The Rickhouse – your chapter board and NPD planning committee CANNOT WAIT to see all of you IN PERSON! The last time our chapter had an in-person NPD event was in November of 2019. Remember way back then, when only health professionals wore face masks, and we didn’t know what social distancing was? Fundraising professionals in the Triangle deserve a day of celebration and we’ve got a special event planned in a great venue that’s new to our chapter. Networking begins at 5:00pm and the program begins at 5:30pm. Cost is $25 for AFP Triangle Chapter members and $40 for non-members.
