Summer 2013
Happy Summer!
I hope you are enjoying your summer and the beautiful weather we are having, despite the rainy days. After watching a powerful storm blow through last week, I was suddenly blessed with the opportunity to witness the most beautiful, glowing rainbow that I had ever seen form right in front of my eyes. This reminded me that after any type of storm or disappointment, there is something great forming on the horizon. I wish the rest of your year is filled with rainbows and awesome wonders for you and your agencies. As fundraisers, we sometimes face “no’s” and other disappointments, but I am happy to be a part of a profession that changes lives and communities for the greater good. As you are reflecting on the great work of your mission, please reward the people and organizations that help move your mission forward by placing a National Philanthropy Day nomination. The categories include: Excellence in Philanthropy, Innovation in Philanthropy, Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation, Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser, Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (ages 5-17), and Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (ages 18-23), and Outstanding Fundraising Professional. For more information and to submit a nomination, go to https://www.afptriangle.org/2013-national-philanthropy-day-nominations/. Remember, there is no breakfast meeting this month, but go to www.ncphilanthropyconference.org to register for the August AFP NC Philanthropy Conference in Charlotte. We will see you in September for our next breakfast meeting.
