Reflecting on two, short months.
Amy Smith, CFRE
What happens when you get a group of committed fundraisers and change agents on a board together?
You get more change faster than you ever thought possible.
I knew that 2022 was going to be a year of intention and growth for AFP Triangle. We have an amazing Theory of Change guiding our work, investments in our vision for a well-resourced non-profit Triangle from our board, and a committed group of volunteers that are bought into creating an antiracist Triangle.
So far this year, AFP Triangle has already:
✅ Required that salaries be included on all jobs posted on the AFP Triangle job board;
✅Re-affirmed our chapter’s IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) Resolution;
✅Updated the AFP Triangle Scholarship program to model some of the best practices that grantmakers are employing with success;
✅Planned a four-part education series with The Equity Paradigm to move people from awareness to accountability on their individual race equity journeys. The series is being offered as a pay-what-you-can series!
✅Moved one of AFP Triangle’s CD’s to Mechanic & Farmers Bank in Durham.
And it is only the beginning of March!
I don’t know what the remainder of the year holds, but I do know that AFP Triangle has already gotten off to an amazing start and our commitment to our goals is unwavering. I am truly fortunate that I get to be a part of this group of changemakers!
