It is hard to believe that it is October. Where has 2014 gone?! It seems just yesterday that we were gathered together for our January Philanthropy Forecast kick-off to a great year of raising money for phenomenal causes. This year, we have continued our tradition of offering a variety of consistently high- quality programming. Our popular breakfast meetings provide members with relevant and informational continuing education that allows you to advance the missions of your respective organizations. In August, our chapter also hosted the 10th Annual NC Philanthropy Conference. Held at the Durham Convention Center, the conference provided a plethora of learning opportunities for development and nonprofit professionals – from the inexperienced to the seasoned. Please visit our photo gallery to see the good time that was had by all.
As we embrace the chromatic landscape that a North Carolina Autumn brings, we look forward to celebrating diverse examples of philanthropy in the Triangle. On November 12, we will observe National Philanthropy Day (NPD) at the Prestonwood Country Club in Cary. NPD is the day that countless individuals around the world join collectively to (1) put philanthropy into action and (2) recognize the change that philanthropy has brought to our communities. This year’s event has a few surprises in store so if you have not purchased your tickets yet, please do so because you do not want to miss out.
And lastly, our Be the Cause campaign is fully underway. It is because of our membership’s generosity that we are able to accomplish so much as a chapter. For those who have made a donation, we cannot thank you enough. And for those who have not, there is still time. Give today and help us ensure that philanthropy in the Triangle remains vibrant and transformational. I would love to hear from you! Feel free to send me an email to canderson@lucydanielscenter.org or connect with me on Linkedin or Twitter. Have a great fall, everyone. And I hope to see you soon!
Cheers,
Clarenda
