Honoring those who have come before us. Standing on the Shoulders of Giants. Staying the Course. (Not the Status Quo but continuing on in the good work and the groundwork that has been built with enthusiasm) and then trying not too be too cliché!
These are all the things I think about when I think of AFP and look at the chapter member lists from years past (Back into the late 80’s). My vision for this year’s AFP is to be a well-networked group of outstanding philanthropy professionals who enjoy what they do and learn from each other. We are more than just sales people, or “professional beggars,” we are connectors who help people find and fund their passions.
Join with me in rolling up our sleeves, working hard to promote our profession and get plugged in to a community of mentors, advisors, peers, colleagues, and friends. As I have heard a number of times at our board meetings, let’s treat our members like we would our donors.
I am humbled to serve as the 2017 AFP Triangle Chapter President and look forward to an outstanding year with you!
