BIPOC-identifying fundraisers around the Triangle (and beyond) started gathering in the middle of 2022, both virtually and in person. We look forward to continuing to build this community in 2023.
There will be four virtual gatherings this year and several in-person ones. You can register now for the virtual event on Thursday, February 23, 12 – 1 PM. Click here to register.
Future virtual gatherings are:
The goal of this community is just that – to build community among BIPOC, mission-driven, fundraising professionals in a white-dominated field. Specifically, we hope to create spaces and connections within and outside the gatherings to learn, share, and build relationships with others. Currently, the group is overseen by the IDEA Committee, and specifically the BIPOC members in it. Gatherings are often unstructured, and the conversation is driven by the members in attendance. Feel free to come with a question, issue, or situation you’d like guidance on, to learn more about, or just talk about.
If you went to a gathering last year, thank you for being part of the launch. It has been lovely to get to know you, and I hope you will continue to join us. I am planning on sending out a survey to understand how this community can grow, improve, and meet your needs.
If you have fundraising responsibilities in your job, identify as BIPOC, and have not been to one of our gatherings yet, we welcome you with open arms. To get the survey or if you have any questions, reach out to Keith Williams at connect@afptriangle.org, and he will forward your email to me!
See you soon!
